Jean Roberta is a university English instructor who writes in several genres. Approximately half her fiction has lesbian content, and she writes erotica in various genres and orientations. Her stories have appeared in anthology series such as Best Lesbian Erotica (2000, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009) and Best Women’s Erotica (2000, 2003, 2005, 2006) from Cleis Press.
Her second diverse erotic story collection, Each Has a Point, will be released by Love You Divine/Alterotica in January 2011. Her first erotic story collection, Obsession, is available from Eternal Press, an imprint of Damnation Press (seriously).
Her recent publications include “Madame Blanche,” a retelling of “The White Cat” (written in French in the 1600s), in Rumpled Silk Sheets: lesbian fairy tales (Ravenous Romance), “Hibernation” and “Home Again” in Coming Together by Hand: Tales of Auto Eroticism (Coming Together), “Thin-Skinned” in Spank! (Logical-Lust Publications), “Taste” in Best Erotic Fantasy and Science Fiction (Circlet Press), “Spring Fever” on site Khimairal Ink, “Rematch” (a “sip” from Torquere Press), “The Art of Communication” in To Love and To Cherish (Love You Divine), and “Down Below” in Best S/M Erotica 3 (Logical Lust). This story is one of several about lesbian Domme Dr. Athena Chalkdust, which can also be found in Best Lesbian Erotica (2001, 2005, 2009).
Jean is a staff reviewer for the monthly reviews site “Erotica Revealed,” and for the lesbian site “Kissed by Venus,” where she also has a column, “Stranger Than Fiction.” Her former columns include “In My Jeans” (2003-2005) for the erotic site Blue Food and “Sex Is All Metaphors” (based on a line in a poem by Dylan Thomas) for the Erotic Readers and Writers Association, July 2008-November 2010. She also reviews for The Gay and Lesbian Review and Perceptions (Saskatchewan, Canada).
Jean married her long-term partner, Mirtha Rivera, on October 30, 2010.
